The instant replay becomes part of the rules only if it will benefit the local fighter. That's what I learned that night.

I'm not sure I follow. Surely if there was corruption involved they'd go against the rules not follow them right?

Edwards was terrible and Martinez was just unlucky in this situation. He broke the rules and paid the price for the crime. At least he got a NC rather than a DQ. Now he can chime back and reclaim what's rightfully his. Edwards got beasted all fight long.

        preposterous

since when did the sanctioning body have jurisdiction over the outcome and not the commission?

didnt have any confirmation that the british board agreed with sulaiman

just unprofessional and inconsistent all round. if this was anywhere else, it would have been reviewed after the fight and then perhaps changed to a NC at that point, not in the ring by 1 guy looking at a couple replays

i would be surprised if edwards takes the rematch

very strong possibility he vacates and moves up weight

if he does rematch martinez, the mexican definitely wins. his speed and timing of countering edwards' jab was beyond ridiculously good.

        and unreal power

this is a special special fighter

You must not be aware that the British boxing commission does not use instant replay or have that stipulated anywhere in their fight rules. Yet against all rules they decided to use it this time right after Sulaiman and Hearn had a 10 second discussion. You my friend are attempting to understand boxing.
