    HEART in Boxing?

How come in the sport of boxing "having heart" is considered how much of an ass whooping you can take? (lack of defense)

To me it takes more heart to not listen to the fans and use defensive skills along with offensive skills.

    And who wrote this crap?

    1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has become untouchable and he is undeniably ahead of the field in terms of boxing skill. If this pound for pound list was for blood, sweat, and tears then Mayweather would not crack the top ten.

It's smarter to avoid punches if possible. Hit and don't get hit.

heart is more about how you react when **** gets REAL tough..when you have nothing left, when you're hurt, dazed, outclassed, floored...its giving 110% when odds are against you and when you were stuck in one of the above situations

Everyone has to show they can handle adversity from time to time........It happens to the best of them and how you handle that is important.

Heart is described by how much fight you have left in you when the going gets tough. When everything is going against you, are you able to come back and make it a fight or not? Best example of heart is Corrales, Vargas, and Gatti, who all refuse to stay on the canvas after getting knocked down and often come back to win the fight. Heart is an intangible that can you farther than all the skill in the world sometimes. Perfect example if Freitas vs. Corrales where Freitas was hopping circles around Corrales and potshotting him with power shots until Corrales finally caught up to him, and Freitas quit. Corrales had heart, Freitas didn't.

corrales vs casamayor 2. corrales gets knocked down in the 10th but holds on for the win

corrales vs freitas. corrales is gettin dominated for 8 rounds, until corrales heart starts to show and forces freitas to quit

corrales vs castillo1. corrales gets knocked down twice in a round, and comes back to win by KO that very same round.

Gatti vs Rodriguez. gatti is losing after a knockdown and starts a slow comeback, which results in a KO win

Gatti vs ruelas. Gatti comes back after being severely hurt 3 or more times during the fight, and wins from KO by building up strength from out of no where.

These are some great examples of heart
