Pac uses a lot of TMA in his boxing. I think you've got that backwards to be honest.
RJJ and Ali = sound as **** fundamentals that's why they were able to play with boxing techniques and more importantly inspire others to box like them.
Pac...here, I'll give you an example, when he has his man up against the ropes and he's bouncing around does that look like Ali to you? Looks like boxing footwork to you? C'mon bud, even if you've never stepped foot in a gym I know you've been on this forum too long to not know better. No, it isn't boxing footwork nor technique, it is TMA footwork. He shows an escape route to his opponent then closes it on them before they can take advantage so it works for him, but, it isn't going to work for just anyone and will not be inspiring anyone to do it in the future anymore than Bruce Lee does. Fundamental **** he throws out the door in favor of TMA fundamentals.
Pac doesn't know how to bait a gap using boxing. It's a very basic thing. Ali and Roy both did it loads, Pac nearly never. He's using a whole lot of not boxing when he fights.
RJJ nor Muhammad, never once ever hit a man with both hands at once. They never trained that way, they never learned techniques that would employ that sort of attack, it simply was not part of their skillset. Pac has, despite it being illegal. Think about why that muscle memory is even there.
Not saying he's flawed for using TMA I just think RJJ and Ali are much much more boxing fundamentally sound whereas Pac's fundamentals are a mix-mash of things that don't always reflect boxing techniques in anyway.
You've never seen Roy employ anything remotely relative to shotokan, you've seen Pac do it though.
Maybe you should learn more about TMAs? Maybe I'm just crazy.
