Canelo has put himself in a position where he needs Kovalev. That is a really quick turnaround. If they give in to that the money better be good and there damn sure better not be a catch weight. They have enough leverage to not give in to any catch weight crap. Kovalev is old so that would absolutely be a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. Canelo didn't ask for one for the Golovkin fight, so I doubt he'd insist on one here. There wouldn't be any glory in the win if he did that.

You're omitting the fact that Andrade wasn't the frontrunner to face Canelo even when he had the IBF. It was already not going to be an undisputed bout cause he agreed to vacate the WBC belt. He single handedly ruined the undisputed bout & backtracked after Andrade fought. If he/GBP would've responded to the IBFs letters initially & been as adamant about fighting Andrade as he was Kovalev the fight could've been happening in a couple weeks.

Andrade isn't avoided. He avoided Charlo a couple years ago! He has also struggled against lackluster competition in some of his fights. DAZN wasn't interested in Andrade because of his crap style. Canelo didn't avoid him at all. The Kovalev fight is a bigger fight given that it would be another championship in a new weight class. Andrade has no following at all. Him and Golovkin are ducking each, no suprise there. Canelo will get around to him eventually as soon as DAZN approves (Im sure Demetrius can keep winning against the cans he fights) but the Kovalev fight is a bigger deal right now. Canelo is the only one consistently fighting top guys. Meanwhile, Andrade and company just fight easy fights and wait for the Canelo shot.

I have no idea what you're saying with your 1st two sentences. If Canelo had enough pull to say no (& get them to eventually approve Kovalev, Andrade & whoever else, then after saying he wants to sweep the belts in 2019) he could've forced Dazn's hand in his attempt to be the first Mexican undisputed champion. Butu know he over here approving franchise titles & shìt so he rather talk about being undisputed than actually fight to be undisputed.

Demetrius Andrade is the best fighter Canelo would have faced since Floyd Mayweather & when Andrade beats him I will be bumping this comment at my discretion. Not necessarily true. Kovalev jumping into a fight against a prime canelo in a few months time after a hard gritty fight is a terrible decision. He needs rest, older fighters need more rest after fights where they were hurt badly. Take Miguel cotto vs Sadam Ali as a good example where Miguel cotto jumped into that fight a few months after a war vs kamegai and as a result was hurt numerous times because he couldn’t take a good punch due to lack of rest considering his mileage.

No that was a shot cotto that hand picked a cherry fight in a large PR fan base city for his farewell fight. It was nothing but down hill for Cotto after trout beat him. Yes he had a good run at middle weight against a shot Martinez and a weight drained Australian but his best days was well pass him.

Nobody wants to fight him because he's lost one round in the last 4 fights !! And two of those guys came within a round of beating Jacobs and Saunders!!! He's getting better and better and NOBODY wants to step in the ring because their trainers know that Andrade is a nightmare!!
