Unpopular opinion: Andre Ward may have been better than Floyd, and Kovalev fought close with him in fight 1, and was dogging Ward so bad in the rematch that an exhausted Ward, after hurting a Kovalev who got too comfortable with his success, found a way out of the fight with 3 low blows after he couldn't finish Kovalev and shot his last load. Then he retired.
Floyd is slightly better on the outside than Ward, but it's close. Inside, in terms of physical strength, power, and the amount of energy it drains to fight them because they're so physical, Ward is way tougher to fight than Floyd. Plus he's also dirty as ****.
Ward is like Floyd mixed with Duran or something, less power, but he will wear you down just the same without the power because of how strong, aggressive, and dirty he fights inside.
And Ward is a natural 175, Floyd is a welterweight. And whatever the record books say, Kovalev proved he was at least equal, if not better, than Ward at 175. So prime for prime, Kovalev would stop Floyd. But now? Who knows man. Kovalev tired pretty quick vs Yarde. But you'd still have to favor Kovalev massively. Floyd wouldnt have the power to take him out even when tired, and Kovalev's jab would drop Floyd eventually because of the size diff.Comment

ward was not a very good boxer so i dont think you can apply anything ward did to floyds skill set. he spent his entire career cheating/preparing to cheat. if kovalev was outclassing floyd the way he did to ward there would be no way for floyd to hang with him.Unpopular opinion: Andre Ward may have been better than Floyd, and Kovalev fought close with him in fight 1, and was dogging Ward so bad in the rematch that an exhausted Ward, after hurting a Kovalev who got too comfortable with his success, found a way out of the fight with 3 low blows after he couldn't finish Kovalev and shot his last load.
