Idk but I don't want him to take it. Him going up & coming back down can't be good for his career, & if he gets beat bad in addition to that it's going to be an excuse once he comes back down & loses to Andrade.

They did this same shìt when Brook fought GGG, it was a fight nobody asked for, Brook got hurt & because of that people discredit Errol's win like Errol wasn't gonna beat him regardless of that. Fickle shìt. Canelo should be fighting Andrade, point blank period.

hes only two weight world champion. he only won regular belt at 168. the real wba super champ is callum smith which for some reason canelo hasn't called out and is unwilling to face. joke. why not face callum smith???

It's the same concept as the Mikey/Spence fight. Move up to two weight classes to fight a bigger, stronger opponent--if you win, you're a martyr, if you lose...no shame in losing to a bigger man after you accepted a bigger challenge. It's actually a safe-facing move and better than losing to someone in your own weight class who can now boast superiority (Loma/Mikey).

Canelo never ducks anyone, he has taken tough fights against his promoters wishes. He only won the title 8 months ago... he has fought the best at 154 and at 160. In due time he will fight the best at 168.

I think you're pretty spot on.

Sort of a win win situation for Ginger.

Canelo is more of a delay strategy than a duck strategy. It's worked with Golovkin, and continues to work.

His real expertise is winning with judges regardless of what happens in the ring. Why duck if you've got that on your side?

If he is the betting favourite and he loses it will hurt him imo

The thing is no one really thought Mikey, Khan, Brook etc. We're going to win. Its all about perception

But that’s Ward who was also not a small man.

The thing is Canelo’a resume and skill level is such that no matter who it is, they look almost inadequate in comparison. Callum? “Who’s he fought?”

                      Bivol? Same.

                      Benavidez? Same.

                      Andrade? Same.

                      Charlo? Even worse.

Outside of GGG (and even with him) there’s already a built in excuse in the event Canelo wins. All of these fighters will be labeled “exposed” if Canelo wins. Kovalev is indeed an older fighter but he’s a fine champion. Maybe some of the other champs have more to offer than Kovalev does at this point but he’s still a rightful champion.
