2 months is more than enough time for Kovalev. Fighters used to fight every other week. He'll be physically fit and can concentrate on his boxing more.

I don't think he will. He will ask for some more time. Maybe 90 days. Canelo really wants this fight and that puts Kovalev in a strong bargaining position.

you hit the nail, they need 30 days between their big fights to get more subs out of it. . you dont want mexicans paying for canelo and then getting Ruiz-AJ for free...

Yep, retirement for Kovalev, unless he wins.

Because Canelo makes the rules and Kovalev really has no say and if he wants that retirement paycheque he& his team will agree to whatever date Canelo wants

Obviously picking a date so close is meant to be a bit of a mind f.uck for Kovalev and meant to make Kov uncomfortable and put him at a disadvantage.

Plus there is only around 7 available Saturday’s in Nov/ Dec and DAZn will want a different Pay period for Canelo and AJ , Wilder / Ortiz probably has 1 of those Sat in early Nov and Canelo / DAZn don’t want to go a week or 2 after that fight ,

December locked up with Aj/Ruiz and a week later Fox has a show

Nov 2 might be the only date that makes sense

After just recently went to War and almost getting KOed by a younger fightet. 68 days is barely enough for healing and camp. Kovalev would have a short 2 month camp while already over trained from the Yarde fight.

                      not ideal

                      was a tough fight

but one could argue now he doesnt have time to take time off and drink

look at makabu . he had a brutal fight vs kurdriyashov and then only had 3.5 weeks off and a month training camp before beating papin last weekend on the kovalev undercard
