Comments Thread For: Hearn Keen On Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Kal Yafai Unification

Juan Francisco Estrada entered 2019 with hopes of becoming a two-division champion. Having already accomplished that, his year can now end with his becoming a two-division unified champ. The reigning lineal super flyweight king lodged his first successful defense with a 9th round stoppage of Dewayne Beamon. The bout took place Saturday evening in front of a capacity crowd at Centro de Usos Multiples in Estrada's hometown of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. It marked his first fight anywhere in Mexico in more than two years and first fight in his true hometown since Dec. 2014.

      Bring it to the UK!

Estrada wins easily but it’d be a pleasure to watch him live.

This better happen next unless Estrada has an even bigger fight next.

No more mismatches like last weekend.

I was for Andy going over there, then along came Whyte. I am all for road warriors, they face bad odds and no luxuries as it is. Ring size, rope tension, matt padding, but if your rules allow you to keep infractions secret. Who wants to go there? Maybe they have other tricks that they're pulling on top of that. The ordinary tricks are bad enough. This needs to be cleared up

The Whyte situation was disgraceful. As a Brit I was embarrassed, ashamed and frankly disgusted with the entire process.

I wouldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to fight over here after that tbh.

I don’t think it just happens here though, boxing is absolutely riddled with corruption at all levels.

If they have meaningful changes, I'm not against more fights in the UK. It's a boxing hotbed, but it looks like they're waiting for the heat to die down. Any word on the B sample?

The B sample will likely never be released.

UKAD don’t have the deepest pockets and can be bullied legally due to lack of finance.

They’ll likely remain in some form of censored litigation with Matchroom/Whyte until the whole situation blows over.

Then Whyte accepts a backdated ban and is never officially confirmed as a drugs cheat.

It likely plays out exactly like the Fury situation.

Kal's had his last 3 fights overseas so is due a homecoming contest. He would definitely be the underdog against JFE so if they both want it so bad, why not just make it?!!
