I think the problem with who Fury is fighting (apart from them being unknown and levels below who he should be fighting) is they can't promote the fight either, its all Fury. A guy like Miller could carry some of the promo, these guys don't talk, have no buzz or local support base.

It sort of feels like TR's plan is back firing, instead of building buzz for Fury leading into a Wilder rematch they are actually damaging the Fury brand by proving that people won't just pay to watch him fight anyone.

I bet ESPN & TR pray every night that Wilder beats Ortiz, if they don't get that Wilder v Fury rematch they can't go on with these types of mismatches, they must be bleeding coin on Fury at this point.

Oh they certainly are...ESPN is bleeding money with Fury. I don’t think it’s Arum putting him in with nobodies it seems like this is Fury at the helm. Arum wanted to build the fight and the opposite has happened. I don’t see him intentionally hurting/shrinking his portion of a rematch with Wilder. Fury likely don’t wanna risk having his cracks exposed or being hurt: looking vulnerable. So he’s fighting mediocre challengers and collecting a lot of money to do so. Fan boys can say what they want but Fury himself knows Wilder is dangerous.
