Why don't boxing follow the Premier League Format?

It's a really easy solution to fighters ducking.

You take the top 20 fighters of a weight class and make them fight each other twice a season. Than you rank them based on overall wins/draws/losses to determine a champion. We shorten the rounds to 5 instead of 12 so fighters can now fight 38 times a year.

Nobody is ever going to do this so why clog up the board with some crazy idea that will never work? Who decides who is top 20???? Each boxer fighting each other twice a year? Hell in two years GGG would fight Canelo 4 times. Boxers are not going to be told what to do and your idea will never happen.

This is a horrible idea. Seriously a horrible idea. Boxing is just fine as is...really. Promoters are a business with leverage, same as any business in the world. They don’t have to make fights with other businesses if they don’t want too. Blame the fighter who signed not the promoter. This isn’t football where soon as Black athletes start peacefully protesting they get punished. Boxing is a free terrain sport and should remain that way.

You literally just described why we need a Premier League format for boxing. Sports are evolving all over the world.

If you told the NBA 20 years ago, teams will be shooting threes as a stable diet. You will be laughed out. If you told World Cup 30 yeas ago, VAR will be used, you will be LAUGHED out. But yet it's all happening.

Boxing needs a premier league format so the best fight the best.

What do you mean who decide top 20? There's literally rankings of top 20 now. If we did this for the Heavyweights, Wilder and Joshua would have fought twice already.

The entire history of boxing is filled with fighters who avoided each other. Imagine this format in the 90's for heavyweights.

Lewis would have fought Tyson 2x
                    Lewis Bowe 2x
                    Tyson Bowe 2x

The winner of a long season would be rightful champions.
