Kirkland was already past it and punch drunk before Alvarez knocked him out. He will get hurt as soon as he fights anyone with a pulse

Kirkland is only 35. That isn't super old for the weight. Taking a 4 year layoff after a big KO loss was probably smart. When he's in shape he is a force to be reckoned with. Always fun to watch, good to see him shake off the rust!
