Kovalev vs Yarde was a modern day classic.

First off, the matchup was fúcking great and the odds reflected that. The fight was wild in itself. It felt like Kovalev was just nicking most of the rounds until shít really flipped on its head in the 8th round and the fight was really up in the air for either fighter. Great fúcking fight.

Shout to the all the promoters involved in making the fight, at the right time as well. You could say this was too quick of a step up for Yarde, but his heart, his willingness to take the fight in Russia, against Kovalev, and the great performance he put up really made this fight a moment. It was a star-making performance. Not a star like Pacquiao, Fury or some shít, but any of your friends that kinda watch boxing will most likely know of Anthony Yarde now.

Also shout out to the ref, Luis Pabron. We talk plenty of shít when they fúck up, but we have to give this dude credit for how he played this world title fight. He could've stopped it in the 8th, could've stopped it in the 10th, but he saw the classic unraveling in front of him and didn't want to intervene on either guys' chances of leaving the ring a world champion.

And shout out to the BT Sports feed, good commentary and their post-fight coverage was great. They really caught a moment with their Yarde and Kovalev interview. Those muhfúckas were really honest with Bunce. It was refreshing to watch.

It was a great fight. Kovalev has other fights in his mind at this stage though and I feel Yarde would need a belt for rematch to happen. I'd love to see Yarde vs Buatsi.

Makabu versus Papin before that was a better fight.

High drama and both guys went to war every single second.

            Cheers!

I guess what made it more dramatic was that even though Makabu dropped him in the 12th, Papln came back and damn near put him down as the fight was ending.

I understand the difference in importance in fights.

This post was just to remind people that the main event wasn't the only
            classic of the night.

Huh? It was a slowing, past-prime boxer defeating a completly unproven and overhyped fighter. Good fight, but who tha *** is going to watch that again and for what reason?
To see how little Yarde knows?
To be reminded how far Kovalev has declined?

It was great entertainment for a Saturday afternoon but nothing more than that in my eyes
