I don't know about that but I do know he should have gone sooner in the whole fight.

I think at points the moment got to him and he didn't throw because he was so bothered by the jab.

He needed to be more active from round 1.

In that same round, the ropes DID save Yarde... when he swung and missed and would have been flat on his face.

Nah lol, he was obviously stunned, he use the ropes as a tool like most experienced boxer should. His experience count today against a younger, fresher and hungry guy. But he was in there with someone that lacked big fight experience.

McGirt was close to stopping the fight go rewatch the corner after round 8. No doubt if he did that in a late 8 round he in all likelihood wins sooner ,was way to respectful and should have been way more aggressive ,lasting 11 when never going past 7 is extremely difficult in itself.

He was trying get things going right from the start of the fight. He wasn't keeping up and was getting beat to the punch...Actually getting beat up by the jab. He didn't have many options at the point where he began shooting to the body....and he blew his load at that point. He just wasn't good enough technically but he was tough and he's a strong guy. He needs to go back to the drawing board and make some big improvements.

In the 9th Kov started lighting him up. McGirt likes to do those wake up call things and perhaps he was more affected by the guy that killed under him not too long ago so his drama seemed realer than normal.

That really is McGirt's way to motivate. Hard to tell how almost done Kov was.

Yarde should fight a few domestic or euro fringe level guys now to solve some of his issues. I wouldn't mind seeing a different trainer as the announcers were saying his guy wasn't giving much advice between rounds.

How is it you don't know what a standing eight count is? I'm going to assume your both British. It seems to be common among them to always have an opinion about things they know nothing about.

Well, you know what they say about assuming. Last I checked Texas wasnt in Europe. Im familiar with the standing 8 count, if you would have read carefully you would have understood what I was saying.

Buddy has not long lost a fighter in the ring, Im sure he will be more cautious and liable to stop a fight sooner after that.

Kov was in trouble and kept his composure to ride it out, he is boxing a lot better these days, no longer the crusher more a boxer puncher, his chin looks ok he took some very big shots.

Savvy performance by Kovalev. Hes really evolved as a fighter. No longer does he recklessly search for the KO. Now he works behind his excellent jab and tries to outbox. If the KO comes it comes and it's working wonders for Sergei
