  • Yarde started too late and tired too quick. So I got it wrong. He leaned into a straight left with his face. I think the other 2 are worse, if Yarde couldn't beat Sergey, he's not beating them.

I will say, Buddy must have been real nervous with his previous fighter dying in that fight because he took too much punishment.
I didn't hear McGirt say that but i presume it was after the eighth. I'd say that was premature. Kov's concentration dropped and Yarde took advantage and gave Kov a real rough round, a fright. But that happens in boxing.

People on here saying Yarde doesn't have a jab is BS. Course he HAS a jab but it was so inferior to Kov's that there was almost no point trying to use it so he tried to get inside and only really succeeded in the 7th and 8th rounds.

Hell, when any dumb MF here knows that Kovalev's body is weak and EVERY commentator says that... you think Tunde and Yarde did not know that? LOL Idiot.
Name calling on the internet. So bold.

            Good fight overall
I enjoyed the fight, but Yarde is very limited IMO.

            Like Eubank Jnr.

Not realizing what point Kovi was in ( Buddy was gonna stop the fight , that means his fighter was totally hurt ) he just had to dig to that body and the head shots were there for the win
Kovi can’t take more than three punches to the head without doing that funky chicken
Yarde’s inexperience and lack of sparring are to blame imo
It’s the second time an overhand right to the temple that began the breakdown of kov. Massive props for weathering the storm. This fight happened exactly when it should have to yield the most exciting bout, a green but strong yarde and an over the hill kovalev. There’s nothing to blame meaning yarde doesn’t have any excuses, unless you wanted him to win, it’s just how the timelines happened matched up.

Kovalev can definitely beat Canelo; I don't put it past him at all. But to have a chance will require several things: First, starting now, he'll need to take all his personal sideshow BS and lock it in a trunk. He'll need to have basically his most disciplined camp in years, including hopping on the wagon and off of the sauce completely from now to then. He'll need to double and triple down on that jab, and finally, do whatever humanly possible to maximize his resistance in the midsection, or at least his defense thereof. And conditioning, conditioning, conditioning.

There were a couple of times where Yarde swung for the fences and it reminded me of Eubank, exactly. I wonder how the relationship between Yarde and Tunde will be after this

                  • Now finally the Ward fanboys can shut their mouths. "Ah Kov was finished anyway" "it was belt line tho" "Kov would have gotten KOd in the next round"

This is why that stoppage was disgraceful. Kov got hit with lowblows repeatedly and the ref jumped in and stopped it. Talking about that right hand from 40% KO Ward finished him lmfao. He didn't even go down. Kov just took flush shots repeatedly from a young guy with over a 90% KO ratio...didn't go down and came back to dominate and stop his opponent. Finally this narrative dies

LOL. Yarde was outclassed all the way.

Why didn't he go to the body earlier?

It's called being jabbed to death and not knowing WTF to do.
Nailed it. People saying Yarde didn't have a jab - yeah that's because after 3 rounds of using it he realised he was going to get out jabbed all night so better to use the feet to try and get inside which he did in the 7th and 8th.

And bad look he got ko'd by a jab? People on here never cease to amaze me. When you are totally gassed you can be knocked down by the metaphorical feather.
