Whether he is or isn't mentally ready right now, he's got over 3 months to get ready.

He isn’t ready. He’s been doing nothing but contradicting himself since the fight. Saying things then saying the exact opposite. Expressing one emotion then expressing the exact opposite. That type of loss under those specific circumstances took a lot out of him. His fanboys aren’t helping because we’re here talking about his health and all they wanna do is troll like he’s the baddest man on the planet and unfazed. I’m not a fan because of all the ducking he didinstead if fighting Wilder. But I am a fan of the HW division and would love to keep it healthy. He should’ve never taken an immediate rematch. He has the wrong team around him. He should’ve took the time to heal from that fight. Then began working on his Ring IQ from the ground up. He has very little. His return should’ve been next year against someone outside the top 10. Then another fight against a Pulev or something after. Then he should’ve went for the belts. His team (mainly special ed) is failing him and rushing him. They don’t want Wilder to get the belts and are convincing him to fight immediately. Wrong move.

While I do think Ruiz is a bad matchup for AJ, I expect them to adjust the game plan and use his length advantage to keep Ruiz from fighting on the inside and using his hand speed to catch him dirty like the first fight.
I think in his mind he wasn’t 100% physically or mentally and can win a rematch if he’s right.

Catch him dirty? I thought it was a lucky punch. Sent from god.

I wouldn’t call it luck. Ruiz took a calculated risk and let his ha DS go after being dropped and caught him with one.
He really had nothing to lose at that point.
I know AJ called it a lucky shot but I don’t agree with that.

Josh knows what to expect now he has a chance. But it will always be tough as ruiz was underestimated.
He is a top 5 fighter
