But they don't go on to beat four legends. That's my point. It's a statistical anomaly. Most guys who go far in the business lace them up as young as 3-6 years old and they're around it all the time growing up. So from a skill perspective they're much more adaptive to fights. That's why guys like Floyd stand out compared to someone like Wilder in terms of basic boxing technique. Wilder knows he's not a skillful boxer and only really gets clipped when he tries to be.

You literally said he had single digit amateur fights...those are not facts man lol...just trying to help ya out bud I know you like Horn but saying crazy stuff like that just makes people view everything you say with skepticism and I've seen you have some decent posts on here before.
Jeff Horn had 5 RECORDED amateur fights in 2012 (Which was the amateur/Olympic run) and lost two of them. If you can find a full listing of his amateur fights that contradicts that number, I'm all ears. Everything else can't be verified because they're generally not recorded when they happen.

It's not a slight on Horn. Darnell Boone had 12 (verified) amateur fights, lost two, turned pro in his 20's and then went on to be the first to knockdown Ward, give Kov all kinds of problems and beat Stevenson. And he was SELF trained. So sometimes these raw underdogs show up and make history because they're not predisposed to a specific boxing style or stance you see with guys like Khan or Holyfield. Chris Algieri had NO amateur fights yet went farther than anyone expected him to against quality B- level talent.

Dude...he won at least 4 titles and made at least one final at another...come on man...he had a lot of amateur fights

"As a relative newcomer to the sport, Horn won his first Australian title in 2009 and repeated the feat in 2011. He went on to win a silver medal at the Gee-Bee Tournament in Helsinki and compete at the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Baku where he lost to eventual champion Everton Lopes in the second round. In 2012, he picked up his third Australian title and first Oceania title to earn a spot at the London Olympics."

In your quote, I count five fights. What am I missing?

I guess I just have a different definition of "a lot". And I'm not dismissing his amateur titles. We're talking about the number of amateur fights he's had - and every reputable source I can find puts it in the single digits. There's nothing wrong with that, I'm just saying, single digit amateurs don't generally beat legends.

Are you really trying to say that someone can win a title and the only fight they have in that tournament is the final

I'm saying that I haven't seen a list of more than five dudes that Jeff Horn fought in the amateurs and I'm waiting to see that list.
