I think the boss is already worthy of that title but just imagine if he beats a light heavyweight....

Bossnelo doesn't need to fight those nobodies, he isn't a light heavy.

Kovalev is washed up
you dont become the "mexican GOAT" by beating a fighter who is a shadow of his former self
the Betterbiev-Gvozdyk winner is the real LHW king
if he beats him, then ginger is a real legend

Kovalev is TWO weight classes bigger and is a champion
If Kovalev can't beat a middleweight then that would be embarrassing and he needs to retire ASAP. The boss isn't even a big middleweight.

I think everyone would reassess their opinion of him in light of such a result (and it's not like he's lightly regarded at the minute).
It's hard to imagine what he would look like in the fight for starters (would he come in bulked etc).

Dont get me wrong, a victory over Kovalev, even if it's the current faded version, would be a great W for Canelo.
just not enough to make him better than a Chavez or Salvador Sanchez in the eyes of the fans, mexican or otherwise
he'd need more than a great W for that, he'd need something legendary, like becoming the real LHW kingpin

Yes. When he beats Kovaduck, he’ll be the greatest Mexican fighter of all time.
Heck, he’ll be considered the 2nd greatest fighter of all time, right behind Ali.
