Not really a jab, technically yes, but you know full well his stamina finished him. Even these pencil necks on this board could have blown their bad breath on Yarde at that point and stopped him. LolComment

I predicted a late stoppage, but Yarde did better than I thought he would.
I only gave him a few rounds but I thought he was going to have Kovalev out of there in the 7th. He had him hurt.
Those body shots Yarde landed reminded me of the Stipe/DC fight in the UFC last week. A pretty one sided fight that turned on it's head due to some well place left hooks to the body. Kovalev came back well though.
He was knackered after that though, he didn't even have the energy to get back up after that knockdown.
If Canelo is next, I think we all know which part of Kovalev's body he's going to target early, and often.Comment

Old enough to be your poppa and give you the spanking your real dad never did.
By the way, been a member here since 2007. Visit here every week, considering boxing is my number one sport, then powerlifting. I prefer to lurk, rather than participate, unless I see something special, like Yarde. He will grow to become a dominate champion once he sorts out his stamina issues, like my favorite fighter Canelo did for the most part.
That attention whore Mayweather used to be my favorite in the past... for the record.Last edited by yaescr; 08-24-2019, 04:57 PM.Comment

Dog walk? Not! Better conditioning and the experience to pace one's self were the keys to victory in this great battle. I would love to see a rematch in 6 months, which Kovalev will never want.
Props to the old veteran. He walked through fire to get the win. He had to be in tremendous shape to do that. Respect!Comment
Fitting that it only took a jab to finish him as he was throwing that garbage left hook of his.
