    NEW boxing programming set to premiere this week on OLN

    Just letting the fellow Boxingscene members know that we now have another boxing program during the week to look forward to. It's not weekly, but the fights look to be pretty solid. It's called "OLN Fight Night" on the Outdoor Life Network (for those that have it).

    It premiere's this thursday night (July 27th) with:

    Kelly Pavlik vs. Bronco McKart for Pavlik's NABF middleweight title. Co-feature: Anthony Thompson vs. Mohammed Said, junior middleweights (live broadcast).

    The 2 hour program starts at 9:00pm ET / 8:00pm CT on OLN

    It looks like future programs include:

    Thursday, August 10th @ 9:00pm
    Undercard Fight: Ireland's John Duddy (17-0, 15 KOs) vs. TBD WBC Light Flyweight: Hawaii's Brian Viloria (19-0, 12 KOs) will defend his WBC Light Flyweight title and take on Omar Nino (23-2-1, 10 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico.

    It says that "Seven live and five classic matches are anticipated for the year." Check out http://www.olntv.com/nw/article/view...=true&catID=76 for a list of replay times and future shows.

    seems like something their going to test the waters and see how the ratings go so be sure to check it out if you get a chance..

    OUTDOOR life network shows hockey and arena football, so I'm guessing there won't be an issue with showing boxing whether it's indoor or outdoor...

    I don't see anyone listed there qualifying as a "legend", but Pavlik and Duddy are good starts to the show

            here's where the "legends" part comes into play,

            Fight Night will showcase 12 live events per year. During the weeks between the live events, the series will present "Fight Night: Top Rank's Legends of the Ring," hosted by Michael Buffer, featuring classic bouts from Top Rank's extensive library, many which have not been seen since their original airing. In addition to seeing the fight in its entirety, each episode will also include the back-story of each fight as it happened -- plus many will be enhanced to include interviews with the contenders, pre-fight press conferences, the weigh-in, and behind-the-scenes banter between the participants. The debut of "Fight Night: Legends of the Ring," will be Thursday, August 3 with the 15-round NABF heavyweight title fight between Muhammad Ali and Oscar Bonavena (December 7, 1970 at Madison Square Garden.) Other classic fights scheduled to air this year include:
            * Ali vs. Norton I
            * Ali vs. Frazier II
            * Foreman vs. Morrison
            * Duran vs. Cuevas
            * Duran vs. Moore
            * Hagler vs. Antuofermo I
            * Hearns vs. Barkley I & II
            * Arguello vs. Mancini
            * Carbajal vs. Gonzales II
            * De La Hoya vs. Brehahl

                Brian Viloria's fight on August 10 from Vegas should be real good.
