Rumor: Vergil Ortiz vs Cesar Pablo Cano around Nov/Dec in LA

Saw this floating around social media. Not sure if it's true or not. What do you guys think? Is it a tougher challenge than Orozco? Cano recently KO'd Linares and has fought a lot of big names. Thoughts?

Why is he going backwards? I know Cano just beat Linares but still, i thought Ortiz would step up against somebody better.

    Easy win for Ortiz.

Good match, Cano easily will be the hardest puncher Ortiz would have face up to date. Which I think its good,

Yep. Cano beat a Lightweight moving up in Linares. Ortiz beats the piss out of him.

Co-sign on that. I think it will be a tough fight for Ortiz and he can crack. Cano has good volume with his punches so I think he'll test Vergil. Plus he's fought really good competition and he's a solid vet. I'd love to see it.

Another good opponent for Ortiz with him coming off the 1 round destruction of Linares. He's being moved along nicely. I like it. Hope its not just a rumor.

Exactly they are moving him perfectly if its true. What i like about Ortiz is he realistic and know he needs the work no matter how good he thinks he is or everyone says he is, he knows he still needs to actual work in real fights, hes not being desperate for the fame.

I think Cano is a decent opponent, considering it'd be his 4th fight this year and he's only 21. If he beats Cano, then match him with Jamal James or Granados. WW is so top-heavy right now, and I think Ortiz still needs some seasoning. It's not his time yet.

At 147? There's danger in it, but Ortiz should blast Cano out
