You caught up in names. Which is a popularity contest. Postol beat Matthysee, stopped him. Matthysee smoked Peterson. What's so great about Spence beating an even older war torn version of Peterson? Why should I rate Peterson as a better fighter than Postol? Based off what?

You see my thing is this... both of them have weak resume for p4p fighters. They are very good fighters but their resume is very average. I am not going on a Crawford vs Spence contest, but Spence had bigger fights. Juist Porter alone is a better name than anything on Crawford resume.

Truth is, most boxing experts had Khan up 4 rounds to 1 vs future HOF Canelo before the KO. Crawford was up 6 rounds to ZERO before Khan bailed out..
Khan had started taking something of a beating in the fourth and fifth rounds vs Crawford and will tell you, more damage was being done vs Crawford than Canelo's KO punch!

Khan won some rounds. By the time the KO happened, Canelo was in control and OUTBOXING khan. Canelo also KO'd Khan with a perfectly timed counter that Khan never saw coming.

Canelo did not win on size alone, he demonstrated he was superior in skill.

Notice how I said in my prior post “IF” Spence beats Porter and “SOMEHOW” gets a fight with ‘Manny” and beats him. I never said duck. I’ve never used the word duck on this boxing forum. You know why? Because unlike you, I respect the heart of every single fighter that steps into the ring to risk their lives understanding they were signing up for a sport with inherent risks. I may joke about fighters from time to time but they all have heart in my book. And I understand anything can happen leading up to a fight and during a fight. Manny isn’t ducking or afraid of Spence no more than your afraid of a man penetrating your ass which probably happens often. Ducking? Please, your ass got bullied in school and you still get bullied today, LOL!! Don’t disrespect any fighter and say they are ducking other fighters unless you have been in a boxing match yourself and understand about all the preparation and sacrifice that goes into it.

Now he can sit back and wait for the winner of Spence and Porter. And if somehow he decisions Spence which is possible, he can attempt to unify against Crawford and make history. Valid point!! I don't fully agree because I feel that all the big outfits are part of the greater problem. Some only do business with a specific network, others demand that you sign 3 fight deal under their banner just to get that one fight done.

I personally think boxers should never sign deals for more than 2 or maybe 3 fights. Unless they know their limitation and can find something long term with guaranteed money so they can put food on the table and pay medical bills.

I'm not an expert of the business side of boxing, but promoters seem to have been the biggest problem with the sport, closely followed by the sanctioning bodies.

Bottom line, if Crawford signs with whomever has all the best welterweights, might as well go the UFC route and have one sanctioning body that's also the promoter. Boxers will get fleeced without recourse or alternatives. GSP retired and McGreggor is crawling back because he can only fight under the UFC banner (unless the Saudi's or Russia wants to organize a fight and cover all the legal bills).

So tell me, in your opinion, was Canelo's superior skill at probably weighing 175# dominating Khan, a WW @ 147 more convincing to you compared to Crawford's dominance over Khan through 5 rounds?
