Canelo was given over a month to make the fight or lose the belt. He could have gone to purse bid. He could have paid Dervy the 7 million he wanted which is pocket change for Canelo who would make 35 million. But instead he gave up his IBF belt without a fight. Nobody ducked him. He ducked Dervy and gave up the belt no matter what desperate BS spin you put on it. He won't fight to unify 160. He could be fighting Andrade in September instead of Kovalev in December. Actions speak louder than words. Canelo no longer wants to fight the top middleweights or he would be fighting them. He is never going to be a unified champion in any weight class. He said he will fight at 175 but only Kovalev. So if he beats Kovalev what does he do with that title? Does he fight the other 175 pound champs? Hell no.
