The slapping punches is why he’s so overrated in the U.K. those knockouts...lol

      He was very, very good.

The only person at SMW who I would always back to beat him would be prime RJJ.

ATG speed and stamina, also had a great chin. Very smart in the ring and able to adapt. It's a shame that his hands were so weak, but he adjusted his style to compensate and was very successful regardless.

I used to get frustrated that he wasn't interested in fighting abroad. But credit where credit is due - he was a hell of a boxer.

a good world class SMW, with 2 recognised defences and a brief unification reign without defences. Solid.

        outstanding fitness.

Apparently he had a fear of lying, not a lack of interest.

garbage and he has no heart.

You should read his direct quotes on him ducking prime roy jones, he openly admitted it.

He also openly admitted he knew Jones was completely shot when he fought him.

Then on top of all that hes a big coke head.

The hopkins fight was pretty close, people forget that and that Hopkins had a knockdown and 10-8 round. I would have to score it round by round, but I thought calzaghe won based on activity, hopkins just wasnt active enough but he did land the cleaner, more powerful shots. Calzaghe just outworked and outslapped a 43 year old. Less impressive when you remember Jermaine Taylor outworked a 3 years younger Hopkins.

My favourite fighter of all-time. Humble, came from nothing, shunned the fame, one of the most naturally-gifted boxers I've ever seen.

This song will always make my hairs stand on end. Seeing Joe walking to the ring to this before totally dismantling another American hypejob in Jeff Lacy. One of the most brutally one-sided boxing masterclasses I have ever seen. Dang...
