Wow, what's this? A good fight actually getting made without any headache? I'll look forward to this one, the winner will probably become the one with the best chance of becoming the boss at LHW. Classic matchup between a good boxer and a strong puncher, although it's not like Beterbiev is just a one-track brawler himself and Gvodzyk is a sharp and solid hitter too. Hard fight to call, although if you held a gun to my head I'd say Gvodzyk narrowly on points.

Like I stated already two years ago, when the smoke finally clears at 175,
Beterbiev will be the last man standing.
Let the winner of this excellent match-up meet Dmitri Bivol or Callum Smith.

This will be the end of the myth of Beterbiev. Even first half, then Gvozdyk by brutal KO in 9.

It's about friggin time! Well overdue, I would have thought (even put money on Bivol being the first to put his belt up against another) but Gvozdyk v Beterbiev it is.

It's obvious that this is a tough pick, I can't separate them on paper so I only have my gut feeling to go on.

It tells me Gvozdyk via narrow decision, maybe even SD. As for knockdowns, I'm not sure who has the better chin as I don't consider either of them FULLY tested. This fight is that test.

When the dust settles (granted it isn't a draw), We will have a unified champ with either Bivol or Kovalev/Yarde left.

I sense that either will steer clear of Bivol, take the less calculated risk and go for Kovalev/Yarde, but that might not happen for some time.

What does make it interesting and places pressure on any fighter who is serious about cleaning out the division are the ages of Gvozdyk, Beterbiev and Kovalev.
All are in the twilight of their prime, with few precious years to leave a lasting legacy and land those mega paydays.
Bivol and Yarde have the advantage of being younger, and therefore can be patient. Also, there are enough contenders, prospects, gatekeepers, and solid journeymen to place additional pressure on those who hold titles.
This is the division to watch in the next couple years, especially since WW to SMW has been disappointing for various reasons, namely a fighter named Canelo who has upset the natural order with his self-assured weight jumping, and good old money bags Al Haymon drawing things out with his perverse mismatches on PBC.

It's so easy to predict what each fighter is going to do Gvozdky will counter and fight on the outside and Beterbiev will go to the inside and get his shots off first...who ever has executes their plan the best wins

Should be billed as 'Gvozdyk v Beterbiev' seeing as though Nail is Lineal Champ. Hate Top Rank's advertising/promo. Just glad we're seeing a unification in this division. I hope winning fights Kovalev/Yarde winner.

Beterbiev catches him very early and has the Nail on the retreat. You don't slug with this guy and make it out of the round.

This is one of the best fights of the year, it's a case of the style match-up favouring Gvozdyk, but because Beterbiev is so good at what he does, I have to favour him.

Beterbiev by KO. I wouldn't be surprised if both guys hit the canvass either.

I'm a big fan of both guys. This is fight of the year for me

Hopefully the winner fights Kov-Yarde winner. Bivol is welcome too.

                    What a great division!
