    Arturo....thanks for the memories

Arturo Gatti is my favorite fighter, has been for several years. It's time for him to hang 'em up. He's accomplished that he'll ever be able to accomplish in his career, and in the Welterweight division no good could come to him anymore, any of the top names would just beat him severely. Most of them worse than Baldomir did. It's been fun Arturo, I've always been a big fan. Time to hang 'em up and move on.

At no point in his career was he ever compete with the elites. But you're right -- a humiliating loss to Baldomir was the final straw.

i dont think it was humiliating at all. he took a beating and handled himself like a pro afterwards. i mean geez when he felt the KO coming he couldve hit Baldi in the balls then rabbit punched him...but he has to much class for that.
