We all saw what happened in that round. Joshua dropped Ruiz with a straight punch and tried to jump on him when he got up and got caught with an equilibrium shot high on the head. This is a shot that no one ever recovers from. It seems that for the people that want to see the portly latiino fighter prevail over the physically superior black man denial and delusion has always been the tool of choice. Y'all only love Deontay Wilder because he has become your favorite Sambo.

He doesnt look confident in saying that... almost like he's trying to convince himself that's what happened.... look at his face as he said that:

Joshua was beaten fair and square. He's letting himself down badly by making excuses at this stage.Comment

I think it's because Ruiz has been going out of his way to chat shi..tt since he won.
If you've followed AJ's career, this edgy AJ is the best AJ. He always rise to the occasion. The humble and friendly one always tend to underperform. I prefer this one.Comment

Agreed. This is a good way to put it. But you can call it luck because Joshua had just dropped Ruiz right before he got caught with the equilibrium shot.Well he's right that it was the first KD that realistically ended things, AJ never recovered.
What I don't agree with is that it was a lucky punch. Anybody who claims a punch is lucky is dumb. You don't accidentally land a punch.
He's fooling himself if he thinks it was luck, it was a well placed counter after he carelessly tried closing the show.Comment

From what I've read. the argument is the lucky punch was from a combo in the third round.
Apparently not being able to recover from a "lucky punch" 4 rounds earlier is acceptable...Comment

Ruiz was known for fast hands since way back. He is faster than your average heavyweight and Joshua will take 2 for one, except he can't take two from Andy. Between Andy's speed and Joshuas vitreous chin, add a little skill, my money is on Andy, but I won't bet a lot, not with Hearn lurking around.Comment
