Ruiz has to have his focus on the business at hand, it’s do or die in the rematch vs Joshua. The difference between fluke or consolidation, unquestionable stardom or obscurity

Ruiz is one tough sob. I'll admit I didn't think he would beat AJ but after watching that fight I don't see how AJ can put him to sleep. Ruiz will come forward no matter what. Even when he got put down he just came forward and was completely undeterred. You have to put him to sleep or he keeps coming. AJ can't do that. He might try to jab and dance around the ring to extend the fight a bit longer but he will lose the exchanges because Ruiz's punches are shorter, quicker and more accurate. I don't think AJ took him lightly. He just got beat up because he couldn't get the better of the exchanges. He could land significant blows but would pay the price for it because Andy stays in the pocket and returns fire.

My gut says Wilder stops Ruiz. Just like my gut said Ruiz was going to stop Joshua. I was even going to bet on that one, but I didn't simply because I don't have a betting account anywhere. Still kicking myself hard for that one.

AJ hits hard but he usually wears his opponents down with hard shots throughout the fight. Wilder is sometimes outboxed but that hand is going to land eventually and it will be devastating for any boxer whose head stays on the same level throughout the fight as it will be much easier for Wilder to time. If Andy is going to beat Wilder that head has to move constantly and change levels to keep Wilder from throwing a long accurate shot. He could smother Wilder but Wilder has good movement and a decent chin. This fight should be Wilders but Andy is full of surprises.
