AJ also said Ruiz as champion does have some say in the location but he'll fight hard for it to be in Cardiff. Then 3 days later the fight is announced in Saudi Arabia and nobody has any idea about it.

Now remember. The previous week Hearn had said Ruiz will be notified of the date and location within 48 hrs. Ruiz went on Joe Rogan and said Hearn had told him the location. Whatever Hearn told him it wasn't SA or Cardiff.

Eddie holds a press conference the equivalent of someone selling you a time share where no fighters show up. Some Saudi guy shows up with a 3 day old company and no website. As well as no history of putting on any big events. Anytime Eddie was asked a question about the event he referred them to the video that was shown at the press conference.

And once again AJ has gone quiet. Just like he did after he made the $50 mil comment and Wilder called his bluff.

I don't quite get the point here. He's a boxer, not a promoter. I'd like to think every elite boxer has that self-belief.
The promoter/manager etc have to worry about the financials and everything else. That's what they're paid to do.

Also the $50m thing was grossly misinterpreted anyway. It was based on Schaeffer's projection of the original proposed fight at $100m aswell as his twattish claim that wilder deserves 50%, so aj said 'if it's worth that much put your money where your mouth is'. Altering the info from it's original context and not offering a contract was shady.
The first thing AJ said to the offer was 'let's go' and eddie was chasing it down asking for the contract.
So I don't see how AJ was putting his foot in his mouth with that $50m statement.
