Comments Thread For: IBF Approves Ruiz-Joshua II, Winner Mandated To Face Pulev

Politically, there isn't anything to prevent Andy Ruiz Jr. from entering his rematch with Anthony Joshua later this year. The recently crowned unified heavyweight titlist was cleared by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) to enter a voluntary title defense in lieu of an immediate mandatory title defense versus Kubrat Pulev.

I don't even understand how Pulev reached mandatory fighting only 3 times in the last 3 years.

What's the split? 80-20 for Pulev?

Pulev mandatory. Usyk mandatory. By early 2020 there are gonna be so many vacant belts that the nightmare scenario may play out - Charles Martin 2x heavyweight champion!

Nobody wants to see Pulev against anybody. Dont understand how they keep pushing this guy as mandatory when there are plenty other better boxers in the ratings...strange. the IBF have always been shady when it comes to mandatories though.

I think Joshua would ko Pulev and Ruiz would beat him on points.

Pulev gets 5%....and he has to fight in Cardiff....in a snowstorm...naked....while the champ can wear thermal underwear, a wool hat and snowshoes.

Pulev will be easy work for Andy Ruiz.

Pulev is the one that keeps fighting and winning eliminators. He was mandatory, got injured, agreed to fight another elimiantor, and won. So he's mandatory again.
