Rank the worst unified heavyweight champions ever

    1. Anthony Joshua

All he did he was beat a 40-something year old Klitschko who had been out of the ring for years. His next best win is either over another old man in Alexander Povetkin, or his win over Dillian Whyte who hasn’t proven anything besides he can hang with Joshua. He won his other two titles over Joseph Parker and Charles Martin, who aren’t even top 10 heavyweights.

    2. Andy Ruiz

Ruiz has nothing on his resume except for a dominant win over Joshua. He also lost to Joseph Parker. While many thought he won, it was close enough for him to lose and that’s the only other name on his resume.

    3. Leon Spinks

Had his one shining moment against Muhammad Ali, who was shot, and that was basically the end of it. He would be number one but it was Ali and Spinks was very early into his career when it happened. It’s probably one of the best wins in this list.

    4. Tyson Fury

He had a great win to become unified champion but he never defended the titles. Outside of the Klitschko win, his resume is garbage. I expect him to eventually leave this list as I think he’s the best heavyweight today.

    5. Hasim Rahman

Landed a lucky punch against an out of shape Lennox Lewis and lost the title in the rematch. He lost to every other top heavyweight he ever fought. His best wins outside of Lewis are Obed Sullivan and Monte Barrett, although somehow he became a two time heavyweight champion.

    Others to know:

    Buster Douglas

Outside of his win over Tyson, Douglas’ best wins are over Greg Page and Oliver McCall. He didn’t make the list because he throughly dominated prime Tyson and didn’t land a lucky punch to win like Rahman did.

    Michael Moorer

Moorer beat Evander Holyfield but was destroyed in the rematch. He also lost his titles to a 45-year old George Foreman. Outside of Holyfield, his best wins are Axel Schultz, Frans Botha, Vaughn Bean, James Smith and Vassily Jirov. He didn’t make the list because his win over Holyfield was very impressive, maybe the best win on this list (although it was close and disputed)

    George Foreman

Foreman knocked out Michael Moorer, in a fight he was behind in. He then struggled with a bunch of average opponents while being stripped of all his belts. He finally lost in a disputed decision to Shannon Briggs and retired. He’s not on the list because his win over Moorer is impressive and even more so knowing he was 45 at the time.

    Give me your lists please!!!

Everyone on that list 100x is greater the bum one-trick pony and the most protected paper champion in history, Sheontay Wilder.

Nikolai Valuev. Got the belt via a gift decision against John Ruiz and the only reason he got the fight with Ruiz in the first place was because of a gift decision against Larry Donald.

Wilder isn’t unified. If he was, he would be on this list.

I really like Luis Ortiz a lot but that’s the only name victory on his resume.

I think Valuev only had the WBA but I could be wrong.

This list would look way different if I didn’t say unified. Frank Bruno, John Ruiz, Chris Byrd, Shannon Briggs, every WBA champ from the 80s, etc. would all have made it LOL

Who has 59-yr old Ortiz fought? Ortiz is another bum overrated by Wilder fan girls like you. The day Ortiz steps in the ring with a contender, he'll get sparked out into retirement.

Right, I didn't notice you specified unified champions.

I’m actually not a Deontay Wilder fan girl. I’ve rooted against him in every fight I’ve watched.

I think Ortiz is good because he hasn’t lost a round in career outside of one round to Wilder he was knocked down in. He was winning that round clearly before the knockdown.

He’s a great boxer and I wouldn’t be surprised if he knocked out Wilder in the rematch.
