Comments Thread For: Spence, Porter Honored To Take Their PPV Fight To Staples Center

The closest that Errol Spence and Shawn Porter had previously come to fighting at the famed Staples Center was nearly seven years in separate bouts on the same Dec. 2012 show five miles down the road at the now-defunct Los Angeles Sports Arena. So when the opportunity arose for their head-on collision to appear at the venue, both immediately jumped at the chance.

I think they’d be more honoured if a vegas location was offered. Still they just need to sell the fight and get a sell out. West Coast main events seem to happen earlier for obvious reasons, that’s refreshing sometimes.

Thanks for the Rep. Spence is huge for sure. I’d love to see in ring weights mandatory. Fans would love it, and it would end a lot of speculation and catch weight nonsense. I have no problem with someone making weight and then gaining more than the other guy. Fans say it’s an advantage to gain so much weight yet at the same time a diss advantage to cut so much weight. Basically the winner just gets blamed. Spence looked better in ring than I thought he would after the weigh in.

I like both guys but I’ll be rooting for Showtime on fight night. This guy at least has the balls to step up to the plate and fight the most avoided guy at 147. Mad respect.

PBC's PPV fights have horrible so far. I like both guys and I think this will be a good fight, but it won't be a PPV worthy fight.

I do not spend a dime on fights like this because it will only make them but more fights like this on PPV.

Maybe, but he will be hiding in a back room somewhere and will only emerge if Porter wins somehow. No way does he step up to Spence. We already saw how excited he was to be in Spence's presence. Also, Pac is great, but if Horn can rough him up, imagine what Porter will do to him.

Is that what you're hoping for? Kell Brook being there to offer a blow job? Tell me when these fantasies started for you 1Hour?
