The kid is 21 years old
    His opportunities are immense
One of the best trainers around ; Robert Garcia
Time is on his side and plenty , and I mean plenty of time to fix all defensive woes
This kid can be the face of boxing

Ortiz should wait and see how he does with a guy like Thurman or Danny Garcia before he steps in with a killer like Crawford.
Right now. Ortiz can't beat garcia. He probably has a better chance against thurman. But vergil should stay away from the top 5 welterweights. He needs to be fighting the Bertos, broners, or victor ortizs right now. Gain experience, then step up. If you throw him in with killers right now, he'll end up being another Fernando vargas.

Stopping Orozco is a good statement, but I wasnt totally impressed by his Performance, but he is still young and acknowledges that he could have done better.

From what I've seen, he was backed up to the ropes way too easily, especially considering that orozco isnt a real welterweight. Ortiz at the moment lacks the lateral movement to avoid being stuck on the ropes and didnt have the defensive tools while being on the ropes to roll with shots and slip punches. A Basic high guard on the ropes will be dangerous against a more powerful and relentless pressure fighter in the future. However, Ortiz can punch off the ropes well and gets a lot of leverage on his shots. So it's still dangerous to press him.

This guy is 5'10" in height, 0'5" taller than Spence.

But Spence is a weight bully doe, smh! The hypocrisy here knows no bounds.

Nevertheless, having said that, Vergil is a supreme talent. Being trained by Garcia is good for him too. He'll develop well.

I think after three or four more fights he'll be ready to take on the elite. Activity is his best friend right now. He just needs to stay active and work on his craft.

He's a killer in the making.
