Neither would be considered the best at 168 off the back of winning this.

While I agree with your statement, I still think Benevidez is the best at 168 (and I’ve been making that claim for a couple years)

I still think we're yet to confirm that seeing how weak his opposition has been so far. I'd even argue Eubank Jr has a better resumé at SMW.

Yeah but who has he beaten to prove as much? He's talented but not confirmed to be the best.

It’s a historically weak division IMO. It’s starting to heat up a bit now, but I’ve always viewed 168 as an unnecessary weight class filled with guys who don’t want to fight at LHW, and British fighters for some reason.

Still standing by my talent assessment. If I’m wrong, I’ll admit to it. I always do lol.

At 168, the best fighters should be fighting each other just like it happens at 147.

They have been avoiding each other.

... Benavides is only 22 yo... in two years from now (or even less) he will have to go up at 175...

I'd like to see him fight and beat one of those British boys convincingly and then he'd be #1 for me. I like SMW personally, it was very good when it had Eubank, Benn, Collins and Calzaghe floating about. Same with when Froch, Kessler, Ward, etc. were around. It goes through periods clearly. I think it's a good interval between MW and LHW, there's a lot of guys who fit in there nicely. The Brits like it because a lot of men are around that size in Britain (and Ireland). We max out at large sizes, I'm an anomaly in Ireland being short, 5'10"-6'0" is average height here.
