Name boxers you grew to like when they retired...

Roy Jones... I thought he was obnoxious and arrogant when he was in his prime. I rooted for him to lose every fight. I was thrilled when Tarver knocked him out. I like him now, he seems like a nice guy.

Lennox Lewis... Lewis was sort of like Jones but a little bit toned down. I wanted him to lose every fight but I like him every time I hear him speak now.

Mike Tyson... I thought he should be in jail for the way he was behaving towards the end of his career. Now he seems like a nice guy.

Zab Judah... I hated him and rooted for him to lose every fight. He was arrogant and obnoxious too. I found myself rooting for him to beat Seldin recently.

Ricky Hatton and Erik Morales... probably because I liked Kostya Tsyzu and Marco Antonio Barrera. I got over these ones a bit more quickly.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Andre Ward. Never liked him as a Boxer although i could fully appreciate his talent. But as a commentator or just as a ring side expert i love his work. He seems totally honest and down the line with his thoughts, doesnt sway for the home fighter and generally just says it how he sees it.

Also he got a bunch of hate from a section of Youtube when he said something about Deontay Wilder that they didnt like and they were outright horrible to him and very racist and it angered me the way they turned on him, it was disgusting behavior and those guys, those LDBC ho'z who call themselves pro black should be damned ashamed of themselves for what they were saying about Andre Ward and his family. Im sure he didnt care about their worthless BS but i felt like i wanted to side up with him and sort that **** out, not that theres anything i can do.

If im ever watching Boxing and they tell me Ward or Paulie Mac is on the mic for the evening im a happy Boxing fan. All that and i really did dislike him as a Boxer.

I'd say Bowe myself. As an active fighter seemed very stand offish and wasn't the most dedicated fighter. He is the realist former heavyweight out there and doesn't coat anything unlike the Holyfields and Lewis's who really don't come off as sincere ,really knows his boxing like M.Tyson too always learn something in his interviews.
