Not sure if this has been mentioned but doesn't going to the body increase the chances of being countered. If you throw a left hook upstairs your arm will prvide you with some potential protection and you will be in a better position to get your guard up again. Throwing to the body offers no such protection and you're wide open to counters.
But then again I've only ever boxed against swinging bags, so what do I know!Comment
