Orozco a high pressure volume puncher saw his production way down. For example against Jose Ramirez who he just fought Orozco who's nickname is Relentless landed 263 total punches of 782 thrown at a 34% rate over 12 rounds. Against Vergil his punches landed, connect rate all fell of a cliff. He was on pace to land about 100 over 12 rounds at just 18% connecting.

orozco was moving up in weight. typical fight for a prospect. its always old guys, small guys, or bums. don't get too excited yet. we could have another teofimo

Orozco has missed weight too many times at 140 he is way too big for 140 and has been for years. Vergil has just moved up to 147 as well. How many prospects are fighting top contenders guys still in their prime who just fought for a world title? Orozco just gave Ramirez a tough fight and Vergil beat him more impressively.

The fight was also pretty close on the cards.

Also, Ramirez is overrated and I think he lost to Zepeda.

ok he fought for a world title big whoop. so did ricardo nunez. who is that? exactly. and ramirez beat orozco around 9-3 with a couple knockdowns and orozco is the same guy who barely beat a hundred year old humberto soto. to describe orozco as a top contender is really stange. he was a fringe contender at 140 and a non contender at 147 where vergil fought him. if vergil had beat an ugas or eric crumble someone on that level then you can start the hype train
