He was one of the best prospects and was dropping Lucas Matthysee in sparring under trainer Joel Diaz. This kid was already going to be great no matter who trained him but adding a elite trainer like Robert Garcia is like adding the Cherry on top of the sundae. Perfect fit for Vergil, gets great instructions and world class sparring with all those top guys in the Garcia camp.Comment

you also offered to meet me in a gym in NY.. And then pussed out the day before. Honestly, you really think I'd take you seriously at all after such an act of cowardice?? Fk off you ******. Btw, what's up with you losers trying to mock pedophilia? You're really that much of a piece of s*** that
that's where you go when you're made to look like an idiot? That's how I know you're a ****** loser with no kids. No real man would ever make light of something like that to try and defend themselves. Must really hurt to know that I proved that you were a coward b****. That's really the reason your wife left you. Not because you lost the Oscar vs mosley bet. She got tired of being with a Puss boy. Hold another L.
You’re from new york? id go there. who are you? i got my money on shadow. new york guys are whimps. you might be a good guy, but compared to guys on the west coast, you guys are sorry.Comment

When Mikey was trying to stick his name next to Pacman just a year ago, Pacman called his team and try to make the fight. No answer
I know that same promotional tactic. Ortiz is just trying to bring his name out there but right now has no absolute interest in fighting any of the welter champs right now.
If Pacman beats him, everyone gunna say "he was always green, no name on his record"
I'd like to see if he can win against any top 10 welter.
Right now, Ortiz team going overboard in that esnews vid by saying Pacquiao is easy workLast edited by RuleOfTheSpear; 08-11-2019, 12:25 AM.Comment

I really like the kid and I think he’s gonna be huge but needs a bit of work
Orosco found a loophole tonight and used it to his benefit for the time being
Got hit quite a bit tonight and if their was ever room for improvement , the kid is only 21 years old
21 years old
I’m thinking this kid can be the face of boxing
Intelligent speaking and already great boxer and only 21
Fughin amazing , he looks the goods + Robert Ortiz in his cornerComment

Why does he even talks about Pacquiao and Spence? Like he feels he's in the same league?
Right now, he has to be realistic. He's not there yet.
I get it. He's the only Mexican hope left at welter after what happened to Granados.
But he needs to understand. There are levels to this thing.
I don't want him to be like Canelo getting a lost so early. Or like Mikey "I can see loopholes in Spence" Garcia.Comment

I'm sure with Robert in his corner and life now, they got a first rate plan of ascension and no hurries. He may well be the luckiest 21 yr old kid in America today and he fights for it.Comment

Honestly speaking , couple of days ago I really thought this was going to be another upset
Friend of mine told me to watch the Soto vs Orosco fight
And today jumped on Ortiz
Orosco had a hard time with him , Soto reminds me of Ortiz , not power wise but stylistically
Freaks me out he’s only 21 , fughin crazy and what a road ahead
He’s got character and a likeness to him
Face of boxing’s future ?
Maybe , but I really like what I seeComment

Nice W by Ortiz. Best win so far & still taking mfers out.
I do think he's making a mistake going to 147. He should cut his teeth at 140 & make his name more there & come at 147 with some more seasoning on him & likely after Bud & Spence are gone, but respect & good luck to him going for the big prize at welterweight if he dares to attempt it.
Beating an overblown lightweight is one thing no matter how impressive.
Crossing gloves with the legit WW who pack more power and are more mobile is quite another.
I also think he should get more seasoning at 140 before rolling the dice at 147Comment
