Ramirez really a 2x gold medalist?

He doesn't look smooth, skillful or athletically gifted like Rigo or Loma. Dont know how Stevenson lost to him.

He got those gold medals with some pity pat punches, literally grazing punches that don't land clean. Amateur boxing is a joke. Not to mention that each of those fights were three rounds, this doesn't give the boxers enough time to adjust to their opponents, I mean imagine if the pros were only 3 rounds, Terence Crawford would have a bunch of losses as he is a slow starter.

Amateur boxing means nothing. You CAN be a great amateur and a great pro (Lomachenko, Golovkin, etc) but being a great amateur doesn't mean you'll be a great pro. Just 3 round fights tell you nothing. Even TBE would have many losses over 3 rounds. Frankie Gavin from the UK was a world class amateur, and I knew watching him as a pro, despite commentary and pundits here trying to tell me otherwise, that he was rubbish. No power, average speed, he just didn't have tools for pro boxing at world level. I never saw the fight yesterday, but I'll have a watch later on. I read he lost clearly, but I see one judge tried to give him a flattering win. Good on the other kid, clearly went in there not give a hoot about the guys two medals and gave him a boxing lesson.

Eh he sc****d past Conlan the first time around. He has hand speed but poor technique and movement. Very limited fighter in reality, he's been given gift decisions throughout his amateur career often, like many Cubans tbh.

Yeah Cubans get a lot of gift decisions, this is one of the main reasons why I stopped watching amateur boxing for good.

Maybe they were those fake chocolate medals wrapped in gold foil?

Cubans and Eastern Europeans have a vice like grip on the judges in world amateur competitions.
