I guess it's that he relies on reflexes for the most part when it comes to defense. He doesn't control his opponent and make them make mistakes to set his punches up, but instead just assumes his opponent will react a certain way to land his shots. Doesn't look like he really downloads the information his opponent gives him. He fights off his own abilities very well, but not off his opponents liabilities. A bit like Keith Thurman in that regard.
That's when he can get caught, throwing too many punches on the line with his opponents.

He has potential for sure, but I think he is maybe overly confident and it can get him in trouble in the pro's.

Fair point bro, I get the Thurman comparison, he reacts a lot more than he initiates. I really like his skill set though, his accuracy and timing with the left hand is fantastic, with the smaller gloves on that shot could do some real damage IMO

He looked like dogchit, and I've been singing his praises for a while. Looked completely disinterested and his defense was amateur (and I mean that as an insult)

Respect. Seems you were right. I only saw him once when he beat Stevenson, and I actually forgot it was him who beat Stevenson in the final until I read about him today after his loss.

Turned pro Saturday, retires Sunday. (he hasn't actually retired) Long way back from this. It's not like losing to Salido who was a seasoned pro. He lost to a 22 year old amateur who had had 8 fights in 3 years which is very few at that level, and was younger than he was. Must be one of the biggest shocks in history.
