Comments Thread For: Manager: Valdez Looking Forward To Berchelt Fight

Oscar Valdez's days as a featherweight title are now a thing of the past, but present-day news certainly has his team excited for the future. The unbeaten two-time Olympian from Nogales, Mexico made the hard choice to part ways with his 126-pound title earlier this month. The decision came after a purse bid was won by promoter Top Rank for Valdez to make a mandatory defense versus Shakur Stevenson.

Good! Go straight to it, no tune ups necessary! It's only a 4lb. difference anyway!

You really think so?? IDK homie.... I think that fight can go either way but I actually favor Berchelt. He proved he can outbox and aggressive fighter the way he did Takashi Miura.
I think Berchelt will try to impose his size on Valdez at times while switching it up and outboxing Valdez at times,... I'll take Berchelt by split decision.
        Hopefully it happens next!

            Berchelt is too big!

Some people have this imaginary picture of Reynoso having turned Valdez into this great boxer over his last two fights. He has not, he's still gets hit too much and gets careless.

Valdez, Stevenson, and Berchelt are all promoted by Top Rank. It's obvious that Valdez will fight Berchelt and Top Rank will hold on to the WBO Featherweight title. This has been done by Top Rank and the WBO many times.

Berchelts last 2 fights looked like he was fighting underwater. Valdez is much quicker and more looser. Valdez by tko

Berchelt is gonna f#ck up Oscar's day if that fight happens.

I think Shakur vs Oscar was the more interesting fight. Idk why Oscar is even moving up unless TR is trying to give Shakur an easier path to his 1st belt fight.

Valdez was campaigning at 130 before moving down to 126 to win the WBO title Lomachenco vacated to move up in weight to fight for the WBO 130 pound title. If Berchelt wins size won't have anything to do with it. I think it will be Berchelt's Boxing ability and power that will be the difference. Valdez also bruises easy and I can see Berchelt cutting his face swelling his eyes.
