  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: Ruiz Will Face 'Completely Different Beast' In Rematch

According to Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz Jr. won't even recognize the opponent he'll encounter in their rematch. Joshua told Sky Sports' Adam Smith in an interview that aired Tuesday that he'll be "a completely different beast" from the fighter Ruiz beat by technical knockout June 1 at Madison Square Garden. Ruiz, a huge underdog, overcame a third-round knockdown that night, dropped Joshua four times and won by seventh-round TKO to pull off boxing's biggest upset since Hasim Rahman knocked out Lennox Lewis in their April 2001 heavyweight title fight in South Africa.

"And I think I fought the best Ruiz in the ring that night." -AJ

Not so sure about that! He only had a 5 week training camp! He had just fought on April 20th! I think he'll be better too!

That’s messed up, but certainly a possibility.

He needs to fight tall this time and work behind the jab. Tie up when the in-fighting starts, and don't force the KO.

He has the tools to easily cruise to a decision in London. And I don't mean a robbery.

Of course this is part of one interview that Boxingscene breaks up into a bunch of different articles over a period of days to make it seem like Joshua is saying something everyday. That's the Boxingscene way.
