The Official Jean Pascal appreciation thread

what a G. was on holiday during the browne fight so watched it properly last night, & bear in mind this is a shot to bits Pascal with a biscuit chin putting on one last hurrah to a tremendous career by exposing one of the biggest scumbags in boxing.

I thought the first kovalev beatdown was bad enough but the rematch was even worse....and then Bivol beat down on the corpse of Pascal but he has risen once again

cant ****ing believe this was 11+ years ago

i still remember thinking it was a draw watching it live, either way what a modern classic.

I love the guy. Some fighters ride off into the sunset wondering if there was that one chance that they could hold a title just one last time and many of them carry that question with them forever. Others have that hunger still and prove to all of us that for some, age is just a number. When he smashed Elbiali and took his zero, he showed he still had the fire to train and focus. He has won 3 or his last 4 fights and took the zero's of Elbiali and Browne. Not sure how far he will go but I'm pulling for him the whole way against anyone and everyone he fights.

When I visit Montreal next year or the following, I hope to get his autograph. He is a likable character!

Regardless of how you feel about Jean...

You have to respect the man for never ducking anybody and fighting everyone in and around the light heavyweight division (Dawson, Hopkins x2, Bute, Kovalev x2, Alvarez and Bivol), the only 2 he was missing was Ward and Adonis. He came into the Browne fight as a huge underdog with the expectation of him being a "name" on Browne's resume. Good for him.

I think the rematch is going to be good.
        May the best man win

I remember after the Elbiali fight thinking that he clearly has enough left in the tank for some more paydays and hoping that he wouldn't retire...and now, here he is at the very least sitting on some more paydays and holds the interim WBA title. That is heartwarming. He fought everyone and I will never ever forget him.
