Contract battles take time and money, courts are full of them, just think of all the ones in boxing history. If every detail was lead pipe lock without potential loopholes or language issues, and if legal matters where so fast this fight would be signed and delivered already. He’s hoping to get something more than he signed for that’s all. Maybe he will get something maybe he won’t, but all of this delay he is still walking around as the champ. Nobody has seen this contract. If contracts are so simple to interpret then why aren’t things done already? I know my boxing history, and this was always going to be a mess. If somebody here knows better than those involved step in and get it done. Let’s not pretend hometown decisions is not a thing in boxing. Sounds to me like AJ is trying to talk himself up for the rematch. Making a couple excuses, saying he beats he 9/10 times in Tijuana etc.

Perfect flukey temple shots don't happen in every fight and Ruiz would need that in the rematch to have any chance of winning.

The fat guy couldn't even get Josh out of there from the 4th rd to the 7th rd when Josh was out on his feet and his legs were gone. And most of the flurries he was throwing were illegal back of the head punches and that won't be allowed in the rematch unless he wants to get disqualified. It won't be in the US where refs are utterly corrupt - he would've to throw legal punches.

Also, from the 4th to the 7th rd when Josh's legs were gone, he was still landing heavy shots on Ruiz at will. So that alone is enough to tell how the rematch is going to go. Ruiz's face is going to look like he was attacked by bees after he gets sparked out into a coma in the rematch.

I think Ruiz wins about 6-7 times out of 10, Joshua needs to be at his very best in the rematch to nail that 30-40% chance.

Joshua can do it if he maintains the distance, but his footwork, movement and stamina is poor so it's a huge question mark.
