Caleb Plant vs. Gennady Golovkin @ 168.

I personally feel it's a waste that Golovkin has never moved up to SMW and tried to win a title there. Maybe he could fight Plant.

Plant has the style to give GGG problems. He's tall, rangy and fast.

I think GGG wins by KO but why is it so damn important for a 37 year old natural middleweight to move up to the less important 168 pound class? Canelo only did that to fight weak Fielding and you know damn well Canelo knew Fielding was weak before he fought him. When Canelo fights Plant, Bivol, Callum Smith, Ramirez, or Benavidez at 168 then he will have fought a really good fighter at 168. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. Great middleweight champions Hagler and Monzon never fought above 160 so was their careers a waste? Hopkins was middleweight champion for many years ad never once fought above 160 until age 41. GGG has a tough middleweight opponent coming up October 5th for a vacant world middleweight title. Middleweight is the weight nature intended GGG to fight at so just let him fight at his correct weight FFS. Many good champions fighting today have stayed at the same weight their entire career like Lara, J Rock, Jermell etc. Why only single out GGG?

If GGG had KOed Fielding before Canelo did you would have called it a complete cherry pick and trashed GGG over it. What is looking more and more like fantasy land is Canelo ever fighting Andrade like he asked GGG to do. He could make a fight with Andrade right now if he wanted to. He is holding out for old Kovalev next. Let's see if he still wants the winner if Yaerde wins.

Plant can box and you are correct imo that style wise it is a tough fight for GGG...would call it 50/50...whether Plant can deal with GGG's presumed pressure and power, how GGG translates at 168, and it would presumably be a big step up in class for Plant...though Ucatzagei or whatever his name is, is a good fighter.

Tbh I would rather see GGG in with Smith or Benevidez at 168...Plant-GGG probably goes 12 imo and Plant will be competitive in a lot of rounds...so even if GGG legit wins like 8-4...people who don't like GGG will give Plant all those rounds and will say GGG lost lol...at least with Smith or Benevidez I think it would be a more clear result either way and probably more action in those fights too.

last time you said canelo-lemule was done deal and that he wouldnt fight jacobs, remember?
ggg has been fighting at 160 for more than a decade, him not fighting at weights above is still fantasy land, when canelo picks his next opponent then we can see who is fighting the best opposition, but i bet you already canelo will be fighting someone better than dervyachenko....

I think Plant would frustrate GGG and win a decision.
