Dropped DAZN

Kovalev is one of two names DAZN allowed him to fight. And from earlier reports GGG wouldn't fight Canelo in Las Vegas so that fight was dead pre-DAZN putting him on their 2 fighter list.
DAZN was overbearing in this situation. And granted there is a fine line between getting your point across & being overbearing, but the bottom line is September getting f#cked up is on DAZN not Canelo, not GBP, not anyone else.
And the fact that they later okay'd Derevyanchenko proves DAZN f#cked up. Their problem is they didn't okay Derevyanchenko sooner so the September date didn't get lost.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 08-07-2019, 12:15 PM.Comment

I'm aware of the situation. My problem is of all the people he could've picked, he chose Kovalev in a fight nobody was asking for. He wanted to get all the belts so he should've immediately went after Andrade. Take Kovalev out of this equation and where do you think all of this ends up? Certainly not where we are now. They approved Kovalev and Golovkin, while he only wanted Kovalev. That fight did nothing more than adding to whatever legacy Canelo thought he was building. Ego driven and nothing else.Kovalev is one of two names DAZN allowed him to fight. How is that on Canelo? Canelo Kovalev is an extremely marketable fight so this is a fight DAZN should be happy to make. All the names mentioned with Canelo where marketable fights except maybe Dervy but that was the last name mentioned.
DAZN insistence that ggg 3 happen and that Canelo fixes their mistake with the contract they gave ggg.Comment

I think only thing that gave DAZN any buzz was the Joshua TKO lost. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad there’s fights to watch but they aren’t worth $10 a month.
I can understand anybody canceling it. I feel like with the politics of boxing that DAZN will never live up to it potentialComment

If they were all marketable minus Derev, then it's even more upsetting that he was so adamant on Kovalev. It's marketable, sure. If people made a list of 5 opponents they would've wanted to see Canelo face after Jacobs, I doubt you'd find many that have Kovalev included. I'm sure we could go back and find posts, but we all know Kovalev was on no one's radar until Canelo brought him up. He has all these other young guys to choose from, yet he still insists on fighting a guy who is 3-3 in his last 6, has been stopped in 2 of those and is ****ing 36 years old. And I'm not saying Canelo doesn't have the right to be mad because he should. But I highly doubt we'd be talking about all this right now if Kovalev was never in the running. How is that on Canelo? Nope, I canceled because DAZN is preventing any fight unless it's GGG. All because a dumbass deal that has nothing to do with Canelo. Now there is no fight. So it stops making sense to be giving them money if Canelo isn't fighting. And let's stop pretending that DAZN wouldn't make money off of any other Canelo fight. Canelo vs GGG III is just one fight and if that's all they are banking on then they are doomed. There sure as hell won't be a 4th,5th,6th.So you cancelled DAZN because Canelo is mad that they’re trying to make him take the best fights, which will in turn be better for their subscribers?
Yet you prefer to see him fight a washed up Kovalev for your money than some real challenges like GGG III when most people felt he lost the first two, which will make for better viewing if they fight again.
Makes no sense to me. Seems you’re just wanting to pay to see Canelo win easier fights. Like paying to be a fanboy.
Fair play to DAZN i say. Too many networks broadcast uncompetitive fights with their biggest fighters
Facts: Numbers declined for the second fight. Sure people on this forum would watch a third fight but do you really expect the number to be better than the second fight? There will be less people who give a f*k because they've already seen the out come. Why are we making it seem like trilogies God's gift to man?
Have you seen Kovalev fight. Do you forget he is actually holding a bet. Do you for get he is also two weight classes above Canelo. You're sir are a moron.Comment

Of course not because before the rumors started no one would have thought of this as a fight to make. Just like no one would have Pac name on this type of list but if you told me there was a chance they fight of course I would be interested. If they were all marketable minus Derev, then it's even more upsetting that he was so adamant on Kovalev.
