  • Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson vs. Joet Gonzalez Ordered For Vacant WBO Title

Top Rank and Shakur Stevenson are heading back to the negotiating table in pursuit of the featherweight title. The unbeaten rising contender will contend for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight title, which was recently vacated by long-reigning undefeated titlist Oscar Valdez who will now campaign at featherweight. Rather than naming his next opponent, however, Stevenson (12-0, 7KOs) and Top Rank have been ordered to come to terms with the next-highest ranked challenger, California's Joet Gonzalez.

One guy with TR/ESPN, one with GBP/DAZN. They should be able to get this done.... Arum likely wont let Stevenson go to DAZN... will want Shakur to win his first title on ESPN.

But unlike Hooker/Ramirez, this one involves GBP instead of Matchroom. Given the state of disarray GBP is, I wonder if they'll be willing or able to make a deal.

I don’t think it’ll be a problem unless Golden Boy wants that fight on DAZN, but take me for example. I’m fighting my mandatory (Lamont Roach) in November which involved both Top Rank and Golden Boy to work together.

Easy work since Valdez ran. Now he wants to fight Berchelt but wants a tune up first. Berchelt calling out guys he knows he's not going to get but won't unify with Herring but will wait on Valdez to have a tune up. Smh. Mexican warriors looking real unfamiliar right now.

Shakur juts comes off very annoyin and you can see if it keep getting to his head he’ll end up like an Adrien Broner.

Gonzalez can beat Shakur just hope the judges don’t rob him because they seem to think that pitty pat and run ****tt automatically wins you rnds despite not rally landing
