No need to drop the belt. That fight will be happening next year regardless. I mean considering the PBC may or may not acknowledge the WBO belt, Spence likely doesn't even pay the license fees for it. But Crawford needs to keep the belt. And Lomachenko was made mandatory for the WBC even though he was a titlist in other organizations.

The real question will be if Spence proves he is the out right A side in the fight, will Crawford be willing to accept less than a 50/50 split? Will he willing to go over to FOX to make the PPV if they can't do it on both networks? If he doesn't, then he simply doesn't want the fight bad enough period.

All Arum was waiting for was Las Vegas to build that big stadium for the fight!! Guess what? That stadium will be built very soon so the fight can FINALLY happen in the stadium Arum was calling for in 2011!!!!

It needs to be said, Arum COMPLETELY blew it by not making Crawford vs Pacquiao when he had both fighters. By that fight not being made, Crawford lost a lot of leverage and it allowed for Spence to over take him in terms of popularity. And if Spence does end up getting the Pacquiao fight next year? Then yeah, he would have pretty much lapped Crawford...If he is to beat Porter and then Pacquiao that is.
