Hopefully Murata can get another KO victory early. Have the WBA mandate Canelo vs Murata which would do phenomenal numbers in the Japanese market. Insane numbers! It will be a cherished throwback fight for DAZN Japan
So when’s Murata Brant 3 happening? October?

Rubber match incoming.
Rob Brant, who lost his WBA regular middleweight title last Friday to Ryota Murata, will exercise his rematch clause. Brant promoter Greg Cohen first raised the possibility on Tuesday, then confirmed his charge’s intentions to ESPN earlier today.
Insert my repetitive gripes about immediate rematches here, but the rubber match is an intriguing concept just for how diametrically different their two meetings were. Their first fight last October saw Brant (25-2, 17 KO) bury Murata (15-2, 12 KO) in volume, making the Olympic gold medalist look borderline pedestrian as he struggled to keep up with Brant’s output. Their rematch was every bit as one-sided in the opposite direction, as Murata hurt Brant early and put him away late in the second round.
It would be nice if the WBA would, I don’t know, actually make super champ Canelo unify with the regular champ; heck, I just want to see the 33-year-old Murata fight more people while at or near his physical peak. Still, a contract’s a contract. Let’s see whether it lands in Japan or the States.Comment

There was a rematch clause and Brant exercised it. There was talk of Murata fighting GGG in Japan because Japan is one of DAZN'S bigger markets. But that seems dead nowComment
