The total purse for the proposed Canelo fight was 35.5 mil. SD gets 5.5 or about 14-15%.

Golovkin made $14 mil for his last fight. I think the idea is that SD goes into negotiations saying, hey we can force a 50-50, but we’ll take 7 mil. Assuming GGG gets the 14 mil he made last time, that’s 33% of the total purse.

DAZN has now spent 21 million on a GGG fight instead of 14.5 million, but its for a title and advances their interest of Canelo-GGG 3 happening.

The only hope for Derevyanchenko is that Canelo or GGG will eventually care about the IBF belt again and eventually offer more than $5.5M. That’s doubtful though.

I think Haymon just f**ked Derevyanchenko out of $5.5M to benefit Charlo, who I’m sure will get the Derevyanchenko fight if Derevyanchenko wins the belt.
But he's getting $7 mil to fight GGG. More money for the same belt. What's the problem?

Golden boy out here trying to low ball people like Floyd. But there is lots of opportunities in boxing right now so they don't have to settle.
Because Canelo is still under Golden Boy while GGG is his own deal with DAZN. So say DAZN gave them both $7 mil to make the fight. Golden Boy has to make a profit and that $1.5 mil could make a difference. GGG doesn't have to pay a promoter.

By playing hardball, he was either going to get a shot at Canelo (big payday) or a shot at an aged GGG (another big payday, likely north of 5 mil) for the title.

        It was win-win. Easy decision.

I think it won’t go to purse bid and SD will make more.

Well I had no clue he would get 7 million for a GGG fight. I don't even know how that's possible but I take it all back, good job Lou. Haha

Yeah if it was win by DAZN and it's more than 11 million. If they don't even bother and say fk the IBF then the kid makes next to nothing fighting the next guy in line.

Sure but if GGG team and DAZN say screw the IBF title, then Derevyanchenko fights the next guy in line after a purse bid which equates to nothing because the guy is some nobody.

They're ******** for sure. MCC just said the offer is like 7 million which I find hard to believe but if that's true then good for that kid cause he'd never sniff anything even remotely close to that for any other fight in his life

Keith Connolly and Lou DiBella handling negotiations I'm sure. Haymon is the adviser to the FIGHTERS, his job is to make sure that those Promoters and Managers pay his fighters what they're owed and they're not stuck in some Mike Tyson/Don King type of Deal

Wait!!! The offer to him was 5.5m? Dollars? Not Jamaican dollars? If true then am speechless.

Ok so he would be making more against GGG? That’s cool then.
