Man that woulda been a great fight. I forgot Valdez said months ago that he was gonna move up to 130 though. Even if he wasn't Bob wasnt gonna put this together abyways. When does he ever put two of his potential stars with undefeated records against each other ?
No way he would have risked a loss for Stevenson this soon

Why are you surprised by this? You could see this is what was going to happen. Valdez has been having difficulty making 126 if arum is to be believed. Stevenson and him would be a great fight but arum want me to “build” it so he moves Valdez up.

Is what it is. Now instead of a great fight between 2 young and talented boxers we will get each in an easy to win espn+ card. Damn shame.

I don’t understand why top rank would have a purse bid when he has both fighters. I don’t understand why he bid on it, especially knowing the fight isn’t going to happen.

By doing it this way he maintains control over who gets the title fight and creates the illusion that this was a fair process When many of us thought this is exactly what would happen.

It is damaging to the integrity of the sport the power promoters have with individual sanctioning bodies. The WBO is a complete joke for allowing this.
